One of the first books I read when I started my financial freedom journey is “The Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey.
In this book Dave describes the steps the reader can take to become financially independent, the Babysteps.
A new Babystep is introduced in every chapter. Each chapter describes:
- what a Babystep is,
- what struggles you can expect on your journey and;
- how others have experienced each Babystep.
I love the writing style. Because it’s simple and to the point. At the start of the book Dave explains his motivation and what the reader can expect to learn from his book.
As he describes the Babysteps in every chapter he includes the letters that his readers have sent to him over the years. These letters make the book stand out to me. You can read others internal struggles and experiences and feel prepared for possible setbacks. So I felt I have realistic expectations for my own financial freedom journey through the Babysteps.
Have you read “The Total Money Makeover”? What did you think of it?
