March 2020 I started working from home (see my post about this here). Following the guidelines set by the goverment my commute would only be allowed when absolutely necessary. I have been to the office once because my laptop had stopped working and I needed a new one.
How is working at home one year later?
I now have a home office that I also use for personal things. It still isn’t fully decorated. I bought a new desk that you can also stand at. My employer reimbursed me the amount. But I haven’t set it up yet.
I do like the fact that I don’t have to wake up early and travel for about two hours to arrive at work. Or being stuck because of a delay or technical issue.
How is my personal life?
The pandemic has impacted my personal life more than my work life. Less meeting up with friends, going out to eat or going on vacations.
I cannot wait until I can travel again and meet up with friends and family.
How are my finances?
At the beginning of the pandemic I focused on having a fully funded emergency fund for six months. I stopped my debt payments to save faster. I wanted to be prepared for if my employer was forced to let people go.
After saving up my emergency I resumed paying of my student loan and became debt free.
Financially I reached all my goals I set for 2020
How are you doing one year into the pandemic?
